Kara Donahoe

In Kara's words

Kara has been in the insurance industry for nearly 20 years. She spent eighteen at one small local agency, Sage Benefit Advisors, where she started in account management, then moved to sales and advising on employer plans, individual/family plans and Medicare, eventually running the agency as a GM and Partner until it was sold. Born in Wyoming, she has spent the majority of her life in Colorado and 25 years in Fort Collins after moving here for college. Admittedly, being an Insurance Agent is not what she thought she would be when she grew up, but it has been incredibly fulfilling and challenging, as it regularly changes and requires solving complex problems.

She enjoys connecting with people, hearing their stories and simplifying health insurance. She will go over all your options and be open about which path is in your best interest, even if that means she can’t offer you that plan. Sometimes, staying on an employer plan or enrolling in a plan that doesn’t work with brokers is the best choice, and she will be up front with you through the whole process.

After you enroll she’s just a phone call away, “when you become my client, you aren’t going at it alone anymore.”

Kara has a son who is a competitive rock climber so she enjoys loudly cheering him on and pulling on the wall herself every once in a while. She likes craft coffee, dark beer, dry wine, rich foods, old world architecture and traveling to the places where she can experience all those things.
